Documentation errors in the pinned game
Review on September 8, 2026 found discrepancies between Sil-Q 1.5.1-beta1 and its bundled 1.5.0 manual, along with two native display/mechanic quirks. The current game guide includes the documented corrections. Research agents used the original frozen guide; no corrections were sent into their sessions.
The recorded outcomes and exact replays describe play with those original materials. Incorrect advice may have affected choices or survival, even where the agent noticed the discrepancy. No corrected-guide model study has measured that effect. Future studies need a new identity and readiness review rather than pooling corrected and original conditions. Archived guide copies retain the bytes and hashes cited by their verification records.
Song costs
| Song | Bundled manual | Pinned game |
|---|---|---|
| Elbereth | One-third Voice per turn (line 1341) | One Voice per turn |
| Mastery | One Voice per turn (line 1439) | Two Voice per turn |
| Staunching | One Voice per turn | Correct |
The Elbereth difference is not display rounding. In sing(), the game adds one
to the cost every singing turn and subtracts that cost from Voice.

Both max agents recorded the higher consumption in their first practice games: bundle 02 during play and bundle 01 in its post-game notes. Both depleted Voice. The interface displayed the actual remaining amount. First correction record.
A follow-up checked all twelve song-rate descriptions and found the Mastery error. The six songs described as costing one-third charge one point every third singing turn when used alone. Combining songs can add costs. Staunching's rate also matched observations in max session 01's second practice game. Mastery cost · Full table and native test · First corrected guide.
Strength in Adversity
The manual, lines 1253–1256, lists Strength and Grace. The ability also raises Dexterity. All three receive +1 at or below half health and +3 at or below quarter health; Constitution is unchanged. The source comment omits Dexterity too, but the executable statements include it. Pinned stat adjustments.
In max session 01's second practice game, stats changed from 2/5/4/3 to 5/8/4/6 at 9/41 health, then returned after recovery. The agent's handoff retained the Dexterity bonus. These observations confirm the bonus but do not establish that it was necessary for survival. Verification record · Preceding song-cost guide.
Territorial pursuit
Native recall says territorial monsters do not pursue. The actual rule stops pursuit after line of sight is lost. A territorial monster moving toward a visible player in a corridor therefore follows the pinned rules. This omission came up in medium bundle 10 and remains recorded in its review. Pursuit rule.
Delvings feature lookup
Song of Delvings writes a temporary mapping array using coordinates relative to the surveyed rectangle. Additional stair, forge, and trap checks use an absolute coordinate for one axis, so they can consult a different cell from the intended one. This is in the native game, rather than the terminal adapter. Array writes and feature checks.
A synthetic-array test reproduced both directions of the lookup discrepancy. It did not establish a research outcome effect, crash, or scoring error. The two secret doors revealed in max bundle 01 used a separate, correctly indexed path. The frozen executable was not changed.
Stale target-sidebar alertness
In one reviewed sequence, an Orc soldier became unwary and noticed the player in the same turn. A newly opened monster list reported Confident while the sidebar still showed Unwary. Both appeared in the native frame.
The displays use the same alertness-to-text function. The monster list reads current state when opened. The alertness setter updates the monster and redraws its map cell without itself requesting a sidebar refresh. The list command saves and restores the existing screen. These paths support a stale sidebar as the explanation; the frequency is unknown.
The guide now explains that [ opens a fresh visible-monster list. The agent
had independently queried that list during play.
